The following is an account of what may have happened with Virgil Grace. She was married at age 16. Her mother thought the marriage to William was good. He was a wealthy business man. She had 5 children each 2 years appart. She lived on a ranch with few comforts. William Jr., Mary and Virgil were playing and found pills they thought were candy. Mary and Buster sucked thecoating off of some but didn’t eat the pills. Virgil was older, ate the pills and died. Virgil Grace was blamed for the death. She was probibly trying to take care of the two young children and couldn’t keep watch on all of the children at once. Some time later, Violet May fell asleep behind a car and William Sr. ran over her leg. Virgil Grace was blamed for this also. She may have suffered from post partum syndrom. She was placed into the mental facility where she lived the rest of her life. Buster did visit her several times there. Buster said his siblings also visited their mother in Camarillo State Hospital. This was told to Roger Horstman by Buster Paddison in 1999 or 2000.
