1 NOTE Newspaper obituary states she died of pneumonia after becoming overly fatigued caring for her sick children.
Mary Schubert and John Dominick Dimig (previously spelled Dumig)
knew each other in Bavaria. The Schubert’s immigrated first and
John later, making his way to Chatsworth, Il. where they were
married. They undertook to farm, he with a borrowed plow. They
prospered, moving to the Atlantic, IA area where they built a
large farm house and fine outbuildings. They had 9 children.
