William House ran a corn store (market) in London from approximately 1880 to 1909. William, Mary, and son John arrived in New York on the sailing ship New York on Sept. 4, 1906. The following from Sheri Baker at the Joiner History Room, 10-23-08 Unfortunately we do not have anything on your grandfather William Paddison. DeKalb County did not begin to register births until January 1878.

I did find a mention of William Sr. It is taken from the Voters and Taxpayers of DeKalb County, 1878: Paddison, W. H. Sec. 4; P. O. Malta; rents farm of John Bowley; no politics; England. Sec. 4 refers to the plat map. Malta is a small community in DeKalb County. No politics means that he probably did not declare himself as a Democrat or Republican.

Per a listing in the Family History web site he was born in Neath, Glam, Wales in 1844 2 SOUR S4

Baglan - Extract from “A Topographical Dictionary of Wales” by Samuel Lewis 1833 “BAGLAN, a parish in the hundred of NEATH, county of GLAMORGAN, SOUTH WALES, 4 miles (S.) from Neath, on the road to Cardiff, comprising the townships of Higher Baglan and Lower Baglan, each maintaining its own poor, and containing 410 inhabitants, of which number, 58 are in Higher Baglan, and 352 in Lower Baglan.
