Horstman (picture) Edward F. Horstman, 85, died Aug. 3, 2002, in his Loveland home. He was born April 20, 1917, in Battle Creek, Iowa, to Paul and Dorthea Colshan Horstman. He married Joyce Seavey Feb. 14, 1941, in Nashua, Iowa. He farmed all his life. The family still owns a farm in Iowa. He was a heavy equipment operator for Century Farm, where he worked construction, for 22 years from 1960 to 1982. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces from 1941 to 1945 duringWorld War II. He moved to Loveland in 1960 from Battle Creek, Iowa. He enjoyed playing the slot machines in Blackhawk. He also enjoyed having coffee every morning except Sundays at the Heartland Cafe. He enjoyed traveling to Iowa for farm business, and being with his wife at home. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Horstman of Loveland; daughter Mary Ann Horstman of Loveland; grandsons, Bryan E. Steele of Loveland, Daniel Morey and wife Gina of Loveland, and William E. Clarida of Loveland; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Horstman. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jim Vincent of Mountain View Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
