A son of William, bearing the same name, married Jennette, daughter of Jenkin Jones of Llwyncoedwr, in 1859. This William was a surveyor and was taught his trade in three months by Alfred Russell Wallace, the botanist. He farmed with his brother at Blaenbaglan before marrying and also worked as an agent for a Quaker firm, the Neath Abbey Coal Company. After marriage, he moved to Llanfairarybryn in Carmarthenshire. In the 1870s he became agent for the Irish and English Provision Merchants and at this time was farming Ynyscedwyn in the Swansea Valley. From 1875 he was agent for the Eaglesbush Estate and farmed Llwyngriffith in the Dulais Valley.

Death of Mr. William Paddison of Neath, Wales, 1895

On Wednesday of last week (says the Glamorgan Gazette, of 15th of November) there passed away a gentleman who, for a great number of years, has been a most familiar figure i the Neath district, Mr. William Paddison, the well known estate agent, died at his residence, Llyngriffith, near Neath, after a period of enfeebled health, which extended over a period of several months. He suffered a severe attack of illness in February of this year. He only partially recovered, and the fatal onset of bronchitis fond him an easy victim.

The funeral took place on Saturday at Cadoxton churchyard, this being the burial ground of the family. The proceedings, which were strictly private, were conducted by the Rev. Lewis Jones, Vicar of Cadoxton. A number of lovely floral tributes were placed on the coffin. The deceased gentleman was born on Christmas day, 1824, at Trenache, Near Neath.

At the age of thirty four he married Miss Jones of Lwyncoedwr, Vale of Neath, who survives him with a family of six sons and two daughters, all grown up.

The deceased gentleman in his early life was in the service of the Neath Abbey Coal Company and for the last 20 years he was the agent of the Eaglesbush Estate, in which capacity he displayed capabilities for above the average. A gentle man of absolute integrity of character, he won esteem in all his business relations, and many will deplore his departure as that of trusty friend.

In politics he was a consistant radical, who by word and action helped to clear the way for what he believed in to e better time coming. Beloved and respected by all who knew him, he, in spite of the infirmity of deafness, maintained a sweet cheerfulness of disposition, and his bearing towards his fellow man was ever gentle and sympathetic. The influence of his quite and unobtrusive life will long remain, and many will cherish memories of his steadfastness to duty, his cheerful patience and his and sincere friendship.

The deceased gentleman was the brother of Mr. J. Paddison of “Florence Dale” Perth, N.S.W. (later called Perthville)

Note that William and Jennette had 11 children total but three, Herbert Ivor, Florence Gwendoline and Mabel Mary, had passed prior to the death of William in 1895.
