Notes
William H. Barnes, son of Abraham Barnes, was one of the most intelligent and progressive farmers of his day. He owned about one thousand acres of available land and was the most extensive farmer of his district. In addition to his farms, he was largely interested in milling and manufacturing beside being a stockholder in bank and other corporations.
