Valeria Horstmann DURANT - Valeria K. Horstmann, 86, of Durant, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. The Rev. C. H. Meyer will officiate. Organist will be Mabyn Fox and vocalist will be Henry Bentley. Burial will be at Walcott Cemetery in Walcott. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may go to the Durant Ambulance Service. Mrs. Horstmann was born on March 29, 1913, to William and Rose Bluedorn Schumaker in Scott County. She married Edward O. Horstmann on June 10, 1948, in Davenport. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking. Survivors include her husband, Edward Horstmann of Durant; a daughter, Sirley Horstmann of Davenport; a brother, Orey Schumaker of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her father, William Schumaker; her mother, Rose Schumaker; a son, Jerry Hortsmann; a brother, John Schumaker; and a sister, Rose Stanger.
