HENRY HORSTMANN Born October 11, 1830, in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. Mr. Horstmann immigrated to American in 1858, settling in Scott County, where he met and was married to Miss Emma Peterson in 1859. They moved to Clinton County in 1869 and lived near Toronto, where he was active in everything that was for the betterment of the community. Mr. Horstmann was a book dealer and agent by trade. He served this county in the Sixteenth and Twenty-fourth General Assemblies, 1876 and 1892, and was a noted German speaker, addressing all the large gatherings in this vicinity.
