Silvina Mary (Katherine Schimmer) Schrunk, age 89, passed away June 10, 2006.

Visitation with the family present was Tuesday, June 13 with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m., St. Patrick’s Church with Fathers David Fleming and Dave Belt concelebrants. Interment was at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Danbury, Iowa.

She was born in Danbury, Iowa on June 25, 1916 to Henry T. and Katherine M. Erlemeier Schimmer. Silvina attended school in Danbury and married Herbert H. Schrunk on June 20, 1944.

Survivors include her daughters, Rachael Belt and husband, Hermie of Emerson, Nebraska, Sally Gassner of Arcadia, California, Jan Behrendsen and husband, Ron of Council Bluffs, Susan Taylor and husband, Dan of Sioux City, Iowa, Jeanne Odens and husband Harold of Wakefield, Nebraska, Laura Danay and husband Dave of Rock Island, Illinois; sons, Frank and wife Jane of Danbury, Iowa, Allan and wife Cheri of Mapleton, Paul and wife Carol of Omaha, George and wife Jane of East Dubuque, Iowa; thirty-six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Dolores Berg of New York, Loretta Landrum of Oregon, and Rosina Corum of California; a brother, Joe Schimmer and wife Helen of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Norman; daughters, Diane and Rosemary; and brothers and sisters.
