ACKLEY—Nancy Kay Knipfel, 67, of Ackley died Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Ackley Presbyterian Village. Funeral services were held Thursday at the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Ackley with the Rev. Mary Stonebraker officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley.

On March 21, 1938, Nancy Kay Ball was born in Lowden, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Eggert) Ball. She graduated from Tipton Consolidated School and the Iowa State Teachers College where she received her BA degree in elementary education. She taught in Lytton, Olin, and Ackley. She later worked at Stokleys, Boelman Plumbing and Heating, and Liberty Bank. On Nov. 23, 1961, Nancy was united in marriage with Arnold Knipfel at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Ackley. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Ackley Saddle Club, and the Hitch & Go Club in Clarion.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Arnold Knipfel of Ackley; a daughter, Brenda Ulfers and husband Randy of Ackley; a son, Bob Knipfel and wife Steph of Ackley; a granddaughter, Kelli Lyman and husband Kyle of Ackley; a grandson, Kole Knipfel of Ackley; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Lyman of Ackley; two sisters, Orkie Geadelmann of Tipton, and Frances Ford and husband Marvin of Tipton; three brothers, Bill Ball and wife Pauline of Davenport, Fla., Ralph Ball and wife Rosemary of Nevada, and Dale Ball and wife Rosie of Nevada; a sister-in-law, Elsie Ball of Rushville, Ill.; and a host of in-laws and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Frank Ball.

Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley was in charge of the arrangements.
