NATCHEZ ? Services for Mrs. Mary Louise McCaleb Tarver, 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held 10 a.m. Friday from Cliff Temple Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Jersey Settlers Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home.

Complete funeral arrangements will be announced later by Laird Funeral Home.

NATCHEz ? Services for Mrs. Mary Louise McCaleb Tarver, 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held 10 a.m. today from Cliff Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron McGuffee and the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.

Burial will follow at Jersey Settlers Cemetery in the Kingston Community under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tarver was born October 30, 1918, in Adams County, the daughter of Sidney Brisco McCaleb Sr., and Anne Matilda Farrar McCaleb of Smithland Plantation, Kingston.

Mrs. Tarver was a devoted member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church where she had been a member of the church quilting group, she had been a Sunday School teacher for many years and was active in WMU. Having been a Pilgrimage hostess at Elms Court, she was an active member of the Natchez Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, an officer in the Gov. George Harlan Colonial Dames XVII Century, and a Descendant of the Jersey Settlers of Adams County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Howard Tarver and son Benjamin Edward Tarver.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Anne Tarver Britt of Natchez and Pauline ?Polly? Tarver Scott and her husband Bobby C. Scott of Natchez; three sons, William John Tarver of Pearl, George David Tarver and wife Betty Jean Walley Tarver of Natchez and Daniel Howard Tarver and wife Alice Faye Magee Tarver of Natchez; a daughter-in-law, Gail Cooksey Tarver of Pearl; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Sidney B. McCaleb Jr.; two sisters, Ella Young and husband Calvin Young of Natchez and Josephine Akeman of Oneonta, Ala.; and special friends, Trilla Mullins, Roxie Nettles and Lola Walter.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers are Doug McIlwain, Lee Gillespie, Dave Upton, James Smith and Glenn Switzer
