James K. Horstman, 55, of Fort Collins passed away March 13, 2007. James was born on November 15, 1951 in Pasadena, California to Robert and Rosemary (Welsh) Horstman. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming and then graduated from the University of Colorado Medical School. After completing his Orthopaedic residency in Salt Lake City, he relocated to Fort Collins where he was a physician at the Orthopaedic Center of the Rockies for 21 years. On September 10, 1977, James was united in marriage to Ellen Shelberg in Denver. James loved the outdoors and had many passions such as skiing, mountain biking, camping, golf, and windsurfing. He also enjoyed traveling and photography, but his greatest loves were his family and fly fishing. James is survived by his wife Ellen of nearly 30 years; one daughter Ashley Horstman of Fort Collins; one son Colin Horstman of Fort Collins; his father Robert Horstman of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother Russ Horstman of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his mother Rosemary. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
