Notes

1 NOTE Looking for information on the ancestors of George Beer and MaryGorman. They were married abt. 1854 in England. George was born in England on Dec 31, 1786 and died on Feb. 3,1871 in Osage Co., KS Mary was born in East Canada in 1832 and died in 1878 in Osage Co., KS. They had a son, Joseph Wilder Beer who was my g-grandfather. Geroge was married more than once. Geroge and Mary are buried in the old cemetary in Emporia, KA.

Yes, George was married more than once. He married Sarah Dyer in England on April 17, 1810 and had 10 children with her. Sarah died shortly after they arrived in PEI and George raised his family alone. When George was in his late 60’s, he married Mary Gorman (abt. 1854)who was supposedly around 18 at the time. They ended up having 4 children together. One of then, Joseph Wilder Beer is my gg-grandfather.

I have a George Beer born in Chittlehampton, Devonshire, England on January 01, 1787. He married Sarah Dyer in England and then went to PEI where he raised one family of 10 children. After Sarah died, he married Mary Gorman (my gg-grandmother) and moved to Kansas where he raised a second family of 4 children. If you think this may be the George you’re looking for let me know.
