DAVENPORT — Geneva Eggert Carstens, 86, of Davenport, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Ky. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Runge Mortuary with funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, in the Runge Mortuary chapel. Burial will be in Lowden Cemetery, Lowden, Iowa. Condolences and tributes may be made at therungemortuary.com. Geneva was born October 7, 1923, in Lowden, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Meta (Steffens) Eggert. She married William Carstens on June 20, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death July 25, 1999. She was a member of New Life Christian Church. Geneva enjoyed playing bingo, dancing and the other activities at her place of residence. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and William Guinn, of Davenport, and Kathy and Dr. Robert Barnes, of Winchester, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Mary Carstens, of Davenport; six grandchildren, Kevin (Becky) Guinn, Craig (Cara Lee) Guinn, Teresa (Jamie) Blozevich and Lynn Carstens, all of Davenport, Kelly Barnes, of Lexington, Ky., and Sean (Lori) Barnes, of Winchester, Ky.; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lois (Jack) Treanton, of Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith, grandsons, Brian and Timothy Carstens, and brother, Charles Eggert.
