Elmer Horstmann
Elmer E. Horstmann, 85, Bennett, Iowa, died Thursday, March 28, 1996, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Services were held April 1 at Peace Church of Christ United, Bennett, where he was a member. Burial is in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Wheatland, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established.
Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, Iowa, handled the arrangements.
Mr. Horstmann was born April 9, 1910, in Big Rock, Iowa, the son of Grover and Bertha Homrighausen Horstmann. He married Blanche Hansell June 12, 1932, in Wheatland. She died in 1961. He married Evelyn VonMuenster Dec. 5, 1964, in Bennett. She died in 1992.
He was a member of Bennett Senior Citizens and past member of Bennett school board and town council.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Prout, El Toro, Calif.; stepsons, Gerald Johansen, Bennett, and Lindley Johansen, Bettendorf; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Bethurum, Dixon, and Bernadine Peckenschneider, New Liberty; and brothers, Kenneth Horstmann, Bennett, and Woodrow Horstmann, Big Rock.
