Notes

This is a follow-up to my previous answer. I looked at the 1850, 1860, 1870 census and found Ashman Barnes or Barns in the following: 1850 Census Jackson Twp., Crawford Co., Ohio page 368369. Ashman 34, Sarah 25, Jno W. 6 b. Va. William T 2 & Mary J 2. 1860 Census Washington Twp., Noble Co., Indiana page 17 - A. Barns 43 b. Va; Wm. T 12, b. OH; Mary F. 12 b. Oh; Phebe A. 10 b. Ohio & Joseph E. 4 b. Wisconsin. Also living here is the family of Jonathan Price, wife and 2 children. 1870 Census Brinfield, Noble Co., Indiana: Ashman 54, Ann E. 45 b. Ohio & Joseph E. 4 b. Wisconsin. I found two marriages for an Ashman Barnes in Indiana Nancy Jane Summers August 8, 1861 in Noble Co., Indiana and Mary E. Smith March 14, 1867 in Noble Co., Indiana. Since Joseph’s DOB is prior to either of the 2nd or 3rd marriage, he must be the son of Sarah Iiams/Imes. So far, I have not found all of the children in later census index. Roberta

I haven’t really researched this marriage the Barnes/Imes marriage and I will share with you what I have. I show a Wesley Barnes born November 8, 1846 Morrow Co., Ohio and died March 1875 Jewell Co., Kansas. He married Elizabeth Cazier on January 9, 1873 in Noble CO., Ohio d/o Murray Cazier and Sarah Colhoun. Elizabeth was born August 22, 1848 in DeKalb Co., Indian and died in Brimfield, Noble Co., Indiana. The wedding was performed by Rev. William Wilson. They had at least one one Clyde Barnes b. Nov. 3, 1874 in Holt Co., Missouri. Sarah Iiams or Imes, was the d/o of Richard Iiams.Imes b. between 1787-1789 in Anne Arundel Co., Maryland and d. Oct. 27, 1844 in Richland Co., Perry Twp., Ohio and is buried at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Congress Twp., Richland Co., Ohio. Richard the s/o of Segeant Thomas Iiams and Catherine Gill Hampton. Sarah’s mother was Fanny ‘Frances’ Meek b. abt 1795 in Delaware Co., Ohio and d. March 2, 1880 In Noble Co., Indiana and is buried at Skinner Cemetery, Noble Co., Indiana. Fanny was the daughter of William Meek and Margaret Thomas. I show that Sarah Iiams/Imes was married March 6, 1841 in Richland Co., Ohio. Since Wesley Barnes was born in 1846, do you suppose that he and Jno. W. Barnes might be the same. Or, is Jno another child Roberta
